I model the first million years of a very large star.

I am a PhD researcher building STELCOR, a stellar evolution code for the earliest lives of massive stars.

I teach computer science on the Sussex coast, and I am building a space science centre while I am at it.

And I give talks about all three.

The research feeds the teaching, the teaching feeds the talks, and the talks send students back to both. It is less tidy than that sentence makes it sound.

Research

STELCOR is a stellar evolution code for the approach to the main sequence in stars of eight to sixty solar masses — the phase most grids skip, and the one where the initial conditions have not yet been forgotten.
